Hello everyone. I've finally got a few links up on our Guilty Pleasure choices, Dirty Dancing and 10 Things I Hate about You. I hope you all get a chance to see one or both this month. I will put up some discussion starters next week on our two films. To get us started though, I thought I'd share why I find Dirty Dancing to be such a guilty pleasure.
I was 13 years old when I saw this movie for the first time. I saw it on VHS at a friend's house during a sleep over. There was something just so fun, and a bit rebellious about watching this movie as a young teen with my friends. We ate popcorn and gummi bears, and drank soda and watched this movie three times at that sleepover. Monday at school had us saying, "Nobody puts Baby in the corner," to each other. Now here's the guilty pleasure part... I find that I enjoy the movie just as much as an adult. First, I still get caught up in the story, and it also brings back fond memories of me and my friends, eating junk food and watching it together.
So what about you? What makes these movies a guilty pleasure for you?

Raiders talk

So, has anyone had a chance to see Raiders of the Lost Ark? I did a couple of weekends ago and was reminded just how fun this movie truly is. It's also a well made film too. Let's talk about your thoughts and impressions of the movie in the comments to this post. Here's some possible discussion ideas:
1) Were there any quotes that really stood out to you, or pieces of dialogue that you really liked?
2) What did you think of Marion as a heroine? Is she an equal match for Indy?
3) What scene(s) really stood out for you? Why?
4) Is Indy more of an archeologist or treasure hunter?
Let the discussion begin!

Notorious Talk
I'm planning on watching Notorious this week. I've seen it before, but it's been a while. Let's start our conversation in the comments of this post. If you have any thoughts, observations, questions, or discussion topics, please comment! I'll post for Murder on the Orient Express as well.
Does anyone have any pattern ideas for Ingrid Bergman as well? Let us know what you're working on, even if it isn't related to the film. I'm interested in what you work on while watching!
